I am very jealous of you getting to retire. I know that does not mean you will stop being an educator. I know because you have always been the best teacher for me whether it was about music or games or food or about how to be a good person. You taught me humility by pinning me to the ground with your knees and thumping my forehead. (The behavior was completely unprovoked I am sure.) You introduced me to so many socially interactive things like ultimate frisbee, riding dirt bikes, darts, and gaming. Different ways to enjoy life and that it was important to be open to try different things. I suppose that the bonus as a philosopher is you always keep learning and get to share that knowledge with others. The world of academia will miss you for sure and certainly so will the students! Time to start planning for the bar in Charlottesville!
