I associate two phrases with Uncle David:

Not Particularly. (As in, “Do you want to go watch Wedding Crashers at the Roxy Theater?”)

and

I Suppose. (As in, “Will you give us money to go watch Wedding Crashers at the Roxy Theater?”)

A positive ratio of I supposes to not particularlys is the desired aim and while, on occasion, we must accept failure, we must also remember that with persistence and incessant pestering not particularlys can, begrudgingly, become I supposes.
