RACHEL FEDOCK

I will always feel so lucky for the short time I spent at SUNY Potsdam. David immediately made me feel not only part of the department but also part of the family. I always felt fully supported, which was especially a big deal as this was my first full-time job in philosophy. I had so much fun listening to his insights in our reading group, philosophy talks, and philosophy club meetings, but also his probing questions, which struck a chord, getting to the heart of any complex issue we were dissecting. Outside the department, a good time was always guaranteed, whether on a dog walk, having dinner, drinks, or playing Settlers of Catan with David’s sense of humor and sharp wit. His retirement is a huge loss for SUNY Potsdam, especially the students, but David has definitely earned infinite relaxation time for all of his contributions to the college, philosophy and his students. Cheers to you, David! Hoping to try more of your homebrews soon. Honored to call you a friend.
